About the ESL Okanagan program

trees-whiteThe English as a Second Language program is attended by people from around the world who desire to learn the English language and learn more about God. Both the staff and student body are made up of people from many different countries and all walks of life.

The staff is composed of experienced and carefully selected instructors who adhere to the principles and values of the organization. They represent countries including ESL Canada, South Korea and Fiji. The varied cultural makeup of the staff reflects the program’s belief that all people can share in God’s love and assist with spreading His word by using their natural talents and abilities.

ESL Okanagan adheres to a vision that includes appreciation for the works of God too. In keeping with this theme, the YWAM ESL program includes both classroom instruction and a variety of field trips. What better way is there to enjoy the bounty of God than by taking advantage of His natural wonders? Students will enjoy up to 8 hours of field trips each month of the program which enables them to practice their English is real world settings while taking advantage of the natural environment.

Ideal ESL Program in an Ideal Location

ESL_thumb2The ESL Okanagan is located near the hills surrounding the beautiful Okanagan Valley on Lake Okanagan. It is the ideal location for those seeking to successfully learn the English language and to grow closer to God. The program includes everything you need to master the basics and complexities of the language.

The Youth With a Mission (YWAM) program was established in 1960 by Loren Cunningham to spread the word of God and His love to all nations. The program operates under specific principles and values that are focused on fulfilling a vision. But what sets the YWAM program apart from many others is the fact that Disciples of God establish practical programs around the world that meet many basic needs of the people with whom they share the message of God’s love.

Surrounding the area are vineyards, orchards, hills, and mountains with Lake Okanagan creating a sparkling diamond of water. Students are encouraged to become familiar with the area and practice their English at all times in this relaxed setting.

Maintaining a Vision

The YWAM English as a Second Language program is successful because of its focus on enabling each person to fulfill their potential through structured classroom instruction and active field trips.
